Ok I finnaly got it running....well to tell the truth my dad did but at least it is running. When things like this happne I think oh god why dont I just sell it and get something more reliable and when I get it running and ride it I quickly remember why I keep it.... These things are so fun to ride!!!!

You consider it unreliable because of a broken reed??

In that case, you can't buy any other 2-stroke without it being "unreliable." Didn't you check the reeds before buying a new carb? What did you think went wrong with the carb in the first place? When you removed the carb you can basically look right through the manifold boot at the reeds!

If its well maintained it should be extremely reliable. I hardly ever have problems with my blaster, starts first kick everytime, runs like a champ... There really isnt much to them, anybody can tear it apart..

That's all part of riding. I have honed my mechanic skills by riding. I think I spend as much time (if not more) working on my machines. I haven't owned one yet that hasn't needed something done to it at one point in time or another.By the way, sorry I missed you guys' at Spokes the other saturday. I had to work. Are you racing there on friday the 18?

Yea, I was there last saturday, and had a great time. First time to go on the big track since they redid it. That step-up to the right of the track is a bitch...but with the exception of almost killing myself twice on the top track, it was still very enjoyable. I can't be there on the 18th because my 400ex is currently under the knife for a 11:1 416 piston, HRC cam, Uni-Filter, Jet Kit, a new tether kill switch, and some other stuff. If everything is together and dialed in I will be there on Sat. the 26th for open practice.

Sounds like we have something in common. My 400ex is also in the beginning stages of being redone. In the next month or so I am going to get JB +3 a-arms, JB +1 1/4 swing arm, works pro stadium front shocks, and a GT thunder revalve on the back. I also have to do surgery on my blasters. I was supposed to go to a national this weekend (red bud) but the crank is starting to go. Oh joy! So I got to swap out the bottom end from the TT bike while the on MX getting done.Of course the cylinder needs bored also! I hope to have it together to race Spokes' Memorial Day spring series race.

We went on on this deal together (we each paid part on RdingManiac420's blaster), and he DOES have due cause to call it unreliable...mainly because we bought it from some kid who didn't know his *** from a whole in the ground. We were told that everything on it was perfect, and the motor just needed put back into the frame. In the end, we had to replace the top end (new sleeve included, bottom end (complete crank),complete clutch, rebuild the transmission, and many, many other problems
