has any one tried to contact yamaha's customer service? did you actually wait the 40+ min. to get through ? were you satisfied with the results of the call? do you think that you were treated fairly?
i think that yamaha customer service really sucks, and im quite sure any one else who has had to deal with them feel the same .
please post any results that you may have had with them - good or bad .
if we see a pattern here it may be time to step up and take some action, if not ill admit to the world that im full of hot air anfd make an apology to the big blue.
thanks!

I wasn't too thrilled with the level of customer service from multiple dealers & the 800 #.

They sure don't want to admit they have issues with the Raptor.

I read so many cases on this board and talked to many people about some of the problems.

Dealers are finally starting to admit problems exist. The Yamaha Customer Service dept. isn't saying much of anything.

Goodluck!

i dont know about the 800 # but the service at my local dealer sucks. i went to get rear brake pads for my sons blaster and was told they didnt carry them in stock and it would take seven days to get them. i called my local SUZUKI shop and he got them in three days. i guess i should have bought my son a suzuki, at least they take care of their customers

I waited on hold at least a dozen times.I now have a flat ear and a hands free phone HHHHAAAA.Then each time I got through I was told YOUU GOTTAA TALLK TOOO LLIISSAA. HOLD PLEASE. My beagle is a helluva lot more helpful than her, this _______ has the personality of a rock. If you get the opportunity to deal with her, write everything down. Then next time you call remind her of what she said (after she lies to ya). It wont make any good points, but she will remember ya, and you will feel better. Ive dealt with alot of factory reps. And she wins the no pulse award. But If I had to deal with thousands of pissed raptor owners Id probably be a little cold too.

This is a little off subject but: What ever became of the HRS/Yamaha finacing mess?? I haven't seen any posts lately about it.

Also, regarding dealership back-up, If anyone here is looking for a good dealer in PA I recommend B&B Yamaha in Lancaster. They're a full race shop that stocks so many aftermarket parts it'll make your head spin and they're not afraid to back a customer in time of need.

Wow, and I thought I was the only one who managed to get Lisa on the phone every time I called. I agree that she is absolutely unpleasant to deal with, and that's as polite as I've ever been able to state it. I waited over 30 minutes on Yamaha's customer service line, and after I spoke with Lisa I was more than a bit disturbed. I then called back the next day after I cooled down and was transferred from the person I initally was connected with (Heather, who was quite nice) back to Lisa. Raptor owners are stuck with Lisa, it seems, which is not good. I feel like Yamaha could care less if its customers are satisfied with their $6500+ purchase. If Honda ever does come out with a liquid cooled 650cc quad that is as reliable as their other quads and can come anywhere close to the Raptor's performance, I have a feeling Yamaha is going to get spanked hard, due in part to the grumblings of unsatisfied customers like the ones I've seen on this forum.

My cuz has a 01 raptor, and his transmission blew, and it took yamaha to send the shifting fork and gears forever. Then he got it back and he blew and oil line, then it went back up there for a week, when he got it back again his motor was cracked. The dealer he got the bike from was going to get a motor for him, But he said it would take yamaha a yaer to get the dealer a new motor. Then they finally fxxed. Yamaha is that great. But there bikes are still the best. My cuz got some women when he called them and he couldn't get threw to the main guy. he was so pissed..

I feel that Yamaha is very "shady" when it comes too dealing with problems with the Raptor.
I know Damn well that the carb boot problem should be recalled....and maybe problems other people are having ????.
It seems dealerships are told to keep a tight lip about troubles also. I was told by one honest mechanic...Yamaha will not have any recals unless it is an extreme situation that says that they can loose more money than the recal would cost. Sounds like another company....FIRESTONE/BFGOODRICH!
I favor no one company....just stating my personal opinion.

I'm no big fan of Yamaha's customer service either. Even though the people I have talked to were nice and gave me what I wanted, I feel as others do, that they are a little "shady" when it comes to known problems. I had problems with the waterpump on my Kodiak, yet every customer care rep I spoke with never heard of any problem with the water pump, nor has the dealer. Yet I come to these forums and I see people left and right having problems with the Kodiak water pump.

I personally have only had to dealer with yamaha customer service on snowmobiles. I have found them to be very responsive. As far as Recalls they are voluntary and I have seen a couple of recalls on the snowmobiles. How would you like to have everyone calling you and Bitching? Eventaully you too would be cold and short. Remeberthe calls they get are more than likely calls when they are out of warranty or your dealer would be taking it. If you are not satisfied they leave you one choice. Make It!!
