The guy who had the banshee before me said he used a 24:1 mixing ratio...is this ratio ok? or would this cause the thing to run lean? thanks in advance

the recommended ratio is 32:1 24:1 would be running rich. it is a gallon to gallon ratio
24 gallons of gas to 1 gallon of oil. wonder why he was running it so rich. anyone else with more expertise?

So if it was running rich is this ok? Is it going to hurt the banshee any? I know if he were running it lean he would screw it up...But does running it rich affect anything?

The guy was probably running 24:1 because that's what the Banshee manual recommends. 32:1 is what everybody seems to run but Yamaha recommends 24:1; kind of a liability issue I guess.

Too much oil won't hurt anything although it will make your fuel mixture slightly LEANER (moreoil = less gas). 24:1 is fine, just probably more than you really need. 32:1 seems good.
