Is the 400ex the only quad out there that doesnt die out when at the balance point??? My banshee and raptor both bog out if at the balance point in a wheelie for more than a few seconds. I drove a 400ex Sunday and I can ride a wheelie till I run out of gas on the the EX with no sputtering or bogging. Is there anything I can do on the Raptor to cure this problem??? If not I might sell it and mod up a 400ex as wheelies are my favorite.

Man, you seriously need to retune your quads in a bad way. I had a 400ex, and while the Raptor does not balance as eaisly as the 400, it most certianly does not bog or die out. I own a Raptor and a Banshee and neither bog while on a wheelie. Might want to change those pilot jets.

i agree with no2stroke. i have a raptor and have absolutly no problem with wheelies. except for the fact that the last time i rode it i was riding a wheelie through second gear when i f****d up and caught the grab bar and flipped end over end.... ouch... dont do that

Sorry but I dont think you guys are correct as what is my Raptor and Banshee the only one that bogs when at the balance point?? I think not. Do this put your bike in gear and pick up the front unitl its on the rear grab bar then put it in neutral and start her up. Does the bike run good................Nope it will barely run and stall. The Balance point on the raptor is only around 6 inches before the grab bar hits. Please do this Test and get back to me as I really need t know if its my Raptor or if there all like this. I have ridden 3.....yes THREE Banshees that have done the same thing. Also the banshee will not bog if your in the power band and the Raptor will not bog if your in the midrange I'm looking for it to run of idle as when i hit the balance point I dont want to be in the power.

Chris,

Is there any good riding up there in Everett? I will agree with you on the wheelie point with the 400 it simply loves riding on those back 2 wheels. The 400 is also a far superior machine stock vs stock for woods riding, it puts more usable power the the ground and handles far better than either the Banshee or the Raptor. Granted they are not pushing the RWHP of either machine, but unless you are dragging all day who cares? If wheelies are what you are looking for sell the Raptor, buy a 400. Put a pipe, cam and 11:1 87mm piston in it and you have yourself 35+ RWHP and the all the wheelies you want.

If you want to get together and head out there sometime shoot me an email. I had heard the pits in Templeton were closed? What kind of riding is out in Lunenburg?

There is a few trail, a few pits, and some power lines. Also there is a half a mile long grass field for some wheelie and drag race action. Send me an E-Mail with you Phone # and maybe we will hook up this weekend.
