twist throttle vs. thumb throttle
#4
A thumb throttle works better during cornering, where a twist works better during jumps.I actually prefer a thumb, but on jumps I wrap my hand around the grip and use my index finger to work the throttle. The only way you'll know is to try em' both and see what you prefer, I'm about to buy a Qracer with a twist and I'm going to leave it on.Good luck with your purchase.

I don't like a twist on a quad.
If you only drag race it's OK. But corners & rough stuff suck. On a bike you lean with the bike into a corner, on a quad kinda hang off it some. That's where a twist seems "weird" on a quad. In my opinion

it all depends what you like. on my quadracer i like my twist throttle and it never seems to get in the way during cornering. my friend's 400EX on the other hand has a thumb. its pretty comfy. aroudn corners i find my hand going into weird postitions to keep it pressed down. its ok thought i don't mind either one. but i have used some pretty bad thumb throttles before. if any1 has ever rode a tri-moto 125 you'll know what i mean. the thumb throttle on that thing makes your hand hurt so bad after like 2 minutes. its terrible i hate it. so i would just say use your twist for a while and if you just can't get used to it go and buy a thumb.

I bought my shee with thumb, but had thumb cramps nearly every ride, so I switched to a twist, thinking I would get a more dirtbike feeling (I have been riding dirtbikes sine 8). I got the Motion Pro kit, and I wouldn't do it again. The twist is very loose, the reaction is far from being as linear as it is on a bike (the beginning of the opening is slower than the rest because the cable tightens or something like that)...the precision is just off the line. Maybe a YZ twist would be better...??
Having known this, I would never have bought the twist.
This said, I still enjoy riding, even with the twist (too lazy to put the thumb back on).
