Hi,
My brother has a 99 warrior. We can get it to start but it will bog and back fire a lot. This is everything we have done. Put in a new spark plug, cleaned out the carb, put fresh gas in, tried to tow start it, and some what checked the wiring system. He has a k&n filter, keihn 38mm. carb ,and white bros megalloy exhaust. We tested the spark it seemed week but was sparking. Everytime he hits the throttle it will backfire or bog and shut off.

please help if you can. All help is apprieciated
thank you very much.

You have covered most of the basics, so if it were me, I would take the carb apart one more time and make sure it is completely clean since you are getting some spark. I would also make sure you don't have an air leak between the carb and cylinder head, I've heard that the intake can crack and allow air to get into the motor causing it to run crappy. If its still no go after that I would spend my time on the electrical end of things. Change the plug again. Check all connections especially the grounds starting at the battery. Pray it's not a bad ignition module or pray you have a friend with a Warrior that will let you barrow his to test. Best of luck.

Be sure to check the park brake.......it has a switch on it that won't let the motor rev.........sometimes this switch will not release when the park brake is released, might need adjusting

Ruff, lumpy idle.... If you have ruled out any carb/jetting problems...
then it sounds like your ready for a valve/timing check. Have you checked them lately.

If you jumped a tooth on your timing chain...theres your problem. Try not to run it until that is checked. You can damage the valves pretty bad.

aright, thanks everyone. This is what were going to do and if i can have some help on this last question. We have a really good mechanic and he is not that expensive so we are going to bring the quad to him. With all the information i have given you, how many hours of work should we tell him to do? We usually give him a few hours max. and he will do his best to fix it.

thanks everyone for your help
