I agree. The Bombardier has some things in its favor, but it seems like it would feel like a riding lawnmower. Whats up with that. Its a stupid chassis design I think. Whats up with those "Ape Hanger" handlebars too?

I've had zero slippage with water/mud to the seat so many times I can't count. But then I push my bike to it's limits in mud and hills almost every time I ride. Why even own a bike that the belt slips, so you can constantly whine about it?? If a Kodiak is slipping, there is obviously something wrong such as the intake clamp or exhaust clamp. My 94 Polaris doesn't slip at all either which is impressive for a 7 year old bike. I have seen Polaris's slip though, but again it's because somethings wrong.

I agree about the Griz though, you think they would have taken care of the sputtering in water before they give it to a mag. I'll admit Yamaha rushes things a bit. But at the same time, they usually stand behind their product. You have to do something about it though, they are not going to just offer as are most manufacturers.

Polaris IS coming out with the Sportsman 700. It will hit the show room this fall. My dealer just talked to his sales rep and he told em all about it. They will release the Sportsman and then a new sport bike(that will be lighter and more competitive with sport ATV's). But I dunno about you guys, but until I see a light Polaris, I am expecting it to weigh 700 lbs. No matter how reliable the source of info, I still will not believe that the new Polaris' until I see them in person.hehe

P.S. When I asked if it will be light, he said the weight issue is something they were/are working on.

Remember though, Polaris' definition of light is a sport quad around 500 pounds, or a utility that is just shy of 800 pounds. I am getting curious to see what they offer up.

I agree about the bomb it may be a nice quad but it looks like a honda 90 or some kind of mo-ped. I also agree about the weight of some Polaris's. It took 3 people and a winch to get a sp 500 back on a high narrow trail after it kicked off due to width. I do have new respect for Polaris though since I've had this 94 300. It's one of the only 300's I'd consider owning due to the power and ability. I've already been offered $2k for it

A guy I know test drove the new Kaw and Griz. He said the griz had a Lot of vibration when you gave it gas and the Kaw was smooth as can be. Maybe the Kaw would get the nod till Yamaha works the bugs out.??

I know if Polaris goes up to 700ccs, they better beef up they're rear cvs because I've seen 'em fail under normal load on these 500 Sportsmans. The Kawasaki 650 engine breaking works really well. In fact, from everything I've seen, it could be the real deal.
