raptor trans gears=yamaha to cheap to mill the gear dogs
#1
i went out to the dealer today and he showed me a tore down raptor trans.after looking at the gears its pretty easy to see why second gear jumps out.the gear dogs on fourth that engage second gear are not machined, they didnt machine any of the gear dogs in the trans just left them as cast.the edges on the dogs and in the slots on 2nd they engage, are rough and some what rounded.when you engage the gears by hand you can actually turn them(either way)and they basicly push apart from one another.the trans we looked at is out of my freinds bike that is still under warranty,i like my dealer feel that the only way to cure the problem is to true up the dogs and slots like yamaha should of done in the first place.ill bet the 02 gears are not left as cast!HEY YAMAHA HOPE YOUR LOOKING!SHURE WOULD BE NICE NOT TO HAVE TO BE A MACHINIST,OR WAIT FOR THE AFTERMARKET TO FIX YOUR ***K UP!
