After you do all the mods take the blaster for a ride. Put at least 10-15 minutes of hard riding in. Then check your spark plug. If it is white go up a jet size, if too dark go down a jet size. Letting in more air and letting out more exhaust I would say you need more fuel. You'll probably end up using a larger jet than you run now.

I know 01blasterjw and he knows how the jetting process works but is looking for a good starting point. If some one has simular mods at about 500ft elevation we would like to know what main jet you are running and what position the needle is in. This would give us a reference point to start. The confusion is the Rad Valve, the pipe says to go up 3 jet sizes and the filter 2 sizes but the Rad Valve says to go down 2 to 4 sizes.....Why? I know more about 4 strokes that 2 strokes but I know that more air + more gas = more power so how and what does the Rad Valve help if you have to jet down when installing it? We are thinking of sending the valve back and just installing a Trenga spacer and reeds... Any help or insight would be GREATLYYYYYYYY appreciated.

I'd try a 245-255 main, 2nd or 3rd needle position(from the top). Those rad valves are a waste of money, so are the ram valves. The best reed valve is the delta v-force. My friend just got one and loves it. If the ram valve is still un-opened, take it back and get the v-force. Try a reed spacer too, they ad torque throught most of the powerband.

Good Luck

I live at about 400ft above sea level. when I first bought my blaster I put on a K&N, fmf pipe & pc2s/a and a rad valve. when all was said and done I ended up at the stock needle posistion and a 240 main jet. I got a coffee color on my spark plug with this tuning.(after many hours of jetting) this should work for you cause of the similar altitudes
hope this was a help?

p.s I would not get rid of anything so soon atleast check it out first, I was very impressed at how these same mods woke my bike up! and would recomend staying with what you have, you can always buy a reed spacer later on if you want, but at least give the mods you already have a chance, I am sure you will greatly aprieciate them!

I don't know if I would say rad valves are junk... I bought my Banshee, and put Boyesen RAD valves on it, and FMF silencers.. Right beside my brothers 98VTR1000, doing 83mph!

well i put the fmf sst pipe and silencer on put the k&n filter in with outerware 260 main jet. it runs great! this weekend i am putting aktive reeds and trenga's reed spacer in. i will try to dial in the carb after that. i appreciate your help. also trenga racing told me the rad valve only gives better performance on bigger motors.

good job with the aktive reeds. I have them on my blaster and love them. I will never try any other reeds They are amazing. Ive had them in for over a year and havent had any problem and it has great throttle response. I want to get reed spacers but my blaster is staying the way it is until the rebuild in the winter.
