What is your quad doing? Back fireing through the carb or sputtering under power? I am running a 140 at about 1,200 feet above sea level and have a white bros scielncer and a uni filter.

Do a plug chop. Put a brand new GAPPED b8es plug in it. Run it up and down the road for 5 min at 1/2 to full throttle. If the plug is white or has no color bump up the jetting. if it is black push it down. also if it is a brown color you are getting real close.

Hello harley22, the stock jet in the quad is a 145. With your mods I'd say run a 148 or a 150. What was it doing when you were running the 150 main jet? We need to know that. How was your spark plug color when running the 150 main?
Blaster96 gave you the wrong plug type information. Do not use an NGK B8ES. That is a 2-stroke plug. Use an NGK D8EA. Gap it at .024" Otherwise follow his instructions on plug color. His instructions are just what I would say. We also need to know your elevation there. Are you riding in the mountains or not? Let us know!

Hey ridnwarrior,

I know the D8EA is the stock plug for a warrior, but I see D9EA and D7EA's out there also. Do you think going to a hotter burning plug like the 9 will help performance? Or will it make no difference at all? I only ask because I hear of people burning hotter plugs or cooler plugs for whatever reason, but no one ever seems to be able to give me a straight answer. Thanks.

I looked at the plug and it is a medium tan after 3 hours of riding yesterday. What does that mean? I live on the coast.

sorry about the plug. I know it is a d8ea. You could try a d7ea. that is a hotter plug and will make the explotion inside your cylinder stronger. But with the spark plug the way it looks, i would stick with the 8.

If you think it is getting too much gas the 145 will make the machine run rich. i am running a 140 at 1,200 feet and is a tad rich with a WB PM w/ quit core and a uni filter.....

Go down in your jet size a little. try a 137.5
