Battery for a Blaster
#1
I need to know what 12 volt battery will fit in the tool box of a blaster. There is a place for one, and if you've ever seen a fiche for the rear fender, you can see they sell a "battery strap".
I'd prefer a dry cell, but those are hard to find sometimes. Don't bother telling me the blaster doesn't need one, I know that. Check my site if you want to know what I need it for.

I'm sure that you already know that the output from the stator is unrectified AC and that you need the charging circuit to be after the voltage regulator. The whole power system is AC which needs to be rectified to DC before you can put a battery in there. Also, I think you mean gel cell not dry cell. If you want to do that project you better stick with a lead acid battery; nothing else will work right since a gel cell probably won't deal with the constant charging nor put out the high current that a lead acid will.

yeah, I meant gel cell. I just don't like the idea of a lead acid battery bouncing around under the seat. The way it is setup on the original bike, the stator puts out the AC power, it goes through a regulator/rectifier, then it is used to charge the battery/run other electronics. I was told I can use it without a battery, but if I use one, the powervalve goes through a "cleaning" phase just after you turn the key. If I run it without a battery, it can't do that.
Another thing: If ANYONE has an owners manual to a 1984 yamaha DT200R dual sport bike, tell me, its very very important! I need a wiring diagram so I can re-wire the harness to fit the frame and get rid of stuff I don't need.
