While it may not be the very fastest out there, it's no doubt fast! I am sure that part of that is Tim Farr, but there are a few other guys out there doing well on them, Doug Gust has his Suzuki and there are LOTS of 400exs out there too.
I have a friend who rides an LRD 300R in the open A class and he is going to a 426 motor next year, he said that the 2 strokes cant really compete anymore. I mean, they can, but the AMA is trying to push them out (I agree) and doing so successfully. I am sure that it isnt helping that all the 2 strokes are freakin 12 years old or so, and that you can go to any honda dealer anywhere and pick up a 400ex, throw on a pipe and some nerfs and go race.
But my point is that Tim's 426 is one fast SOB, I can promise you that, he wouldnt be riding it if it wasnt.
