I have heard of a snowmobile conversion setup you can do that you bolt on skis instead of your front tires and a track setup for the back and kind of turn your quad into a snow machine for the winter, has anyone ever done one of these?

I have not seen one, just heard of it.

If anyone has info please let me know.

Thanks

Yeah... It's called SnoTraxx. Every few years, dirtwheels does an article and raves how great it is. But for the cost of the kit, i'm going to stick with my snowmobile!
Here is the website for SnoTraxx.

Snow? Don't mention that word... It's getting colder and darker at an earlier time...yuck!!

Check into the kit...But I'm sure your going to find that it is actually cheaper to get a used snowmobile than to spend all the money trying to make a quad act like one.

Hah hah...funny funny.....

I have a sled too (mxz600)....still hate the stuff. It's not bad once the snow is on the ground for a while...But those first few snow falls are bad...wet ground..Unusable trails. Mud all over the house.

Cool to see some sledders on here!

I must admit though; although I love my new Warrior, nothing got my adrenalin pumping like blasting down the lake at 100+ mph on my Arctic Cat ZR 700......in 1000 ft! "See ya, Raptors!"

Quads are fun and more accessible; but for wicked power and speed, sleds are the way to go! Too bad we don't get much snow anymore.

Just thought I'd get that outta my system............hehe.

I MISS SNOWMOBILING!

Its funny how people always talk about how their ATVs are so fast... People just don't understand how fast sleds are! I had to pull mine out this summer to grass drag a banshee who thought he was "all that and a bag of potato chips." Needless to say, he was eating studs! Every time I take it out after having rode my wheeler all summer, I'm amazed at the power!

Please please PLEASE let it snow early and often this year!!!

Yeah sleds are fun. I cannot touch my mxz600 with the banshee. But my cousin has a 2000 fan 380. He weighs in at about 260 lbs....I can beat him on snow or grass with the banshee. But It is still pretty close. I beat him worse on the grass than the snow...Everyone knows all about the banshee getting any traction on snow.

All and all sleds are fun...just a pain for me since I am the only one (other than my cousin) that has a sled...It gets pretty boring riding by myself all the time.
