i have a wolverine and i think they are alot better. polaris my be faster but they make lots of mods for the wolv. they weigh alot less then the beastly polaris. also i dont like automatic with the wolv. you can ride major wheelies with it. which is really hard on there clutch but it is nice to do once in a while when you want to show off. plus they just look better. and jump great

I have a scrambler 400 and it does kick ***. It`s alot faster than the wolverine and there`s also same amount of mod available for the 500 and ton`s more for the 400. You can wheelie it alot easier, The suspension is as great as the one on the wolverine. Plus you get the choice of riding it in 2 or 4 wheel drive and when I mean 4 wheel drive,I mean that you can spin the 4 tires, not just 3.

If you think a wolverine looks better then your crazy to me it looks like a utlity quad. And who says scramblers cant get wheelies i can get a good wheelie and you get true awd. and it does not cost alll that much more. and you get 500cc compared to 350. there are people makind mods for the scramblers. there is a 65 hp kit for the 400. and there are a couple of companys that make pipes fot the 500. When i had to make the decision i which one to buy i am glad that i pick the scrambler because it is faster and has switch on awd(i would mish do donuts to much). well thats all i got to say

Wolverine, Lighter more nimble machine, Wolverine also has a better tolerance for deep mud and water. Wolverine is also true to the desing as a sport/utility. Wolverine will easily tow and carry more loads. More pushing power for plow if neccisary.

But, Scrambler is faster, The automatic allows novice riders as well as experanced riders to enjoy. And its no doubt the the 2x4 mode on the scramber is blast to slide on.
Both machines are unique and BOTH provide plenty of enjoyment. Scramber is truely a more sport oriented quad. Versus a Major sport, with utility add on in the wolverine.

I was just wondering.... how are you guys getting your Wolverines to wheelie? I've got a '96 with a Dynojet kit, K&N filter, and a FMF Pipe on it, and I still can't get the front wheels an inch off the ground without a really good lauching point. Is it because I've got 25" Bearclaws on it? Don't get me wrong... I love my Wolverine. It handles great, and nothing can touch it in the mud, but I'm pretty dissapointed with the bottom end power of it. I figured it would make up for the low power with a high top end, but yesterday my brother passed me on his totaly stock '98 Wolverine.

The Wolv is a True Sport/Utility, the
Scramblers are more Sport(in fact the only
True Sport 4X4's made), therefore comparisons
are less than explanitory.

What most seem to forget is that the Wolv
motor is based on a Warrior's, and
most Team Alba Warrior engine parts will
work on a Wolverine, and the fact that
the Wolv has Shocks all Around means
you're Suspension choices are very good,
if indeed you deem it nessessarry to go that
far and Team Alba's Yamahas are known for
their power.

To the Guy who bought a Pipe and Filter
For his Wolv you should also consider a
higher comp piston 10:1+, as the
wolv possesses a relativly low comp
ratio.

in Closing the Wolv is a Great all
Around Ride(good in both Worlds, but not
Great in either)

And the Scramblers are Great Sport Rides

Great Day

like i said early this week it is reall hard on the clutch of the wolv. but if you really want to know how i do it i will tell you alright start out in 1st then click it in to 2nd but when you do this keep holding it up so it is like in a false neutral rev. it up and let it down. this should get the front end up. may be not though with those tires. this is being done of a 99 wolv with dg full skids and supertrapp pipe. thats all and more?

Didn't Yamaha change a few things in 97? i think they did because some ecesories are made for 95-96 and 97-00. So did they ever update the Wolverine? This could be why the stock 98 passed the moded 96.

I'm waiting on my 2000 wolverine.
I bought it a month ago and it should be in
anytime now. It's very hard to find a dealer
with one in stock in minnesota. ATV's are gone in a matter of days here. It really sucks. All the dealers want almost the MSRP
price because of demand. On top of that ,
yamaha only gives each dealer a couple a year! Supply and demand!! I hate it!
I could buy a old pickup for the price of a new ATV. Run over tree's and drive it on public roads! We need more trails nation wide!! And as far as scrambler vs. wolverine?
Well......... My decision was set on a all
around good ATV in mud , snow , water , jumping , forest trails and being very very reliable. Along with me reading every ATV mag there was and getting other opinions. I like the wolverine.
