I agree with KENTUCKYHILLBILLY (sorry if the name was spelt wrong) the warrior is not an all out high performance quad in stock trim, its more of an all around trail rider but with massive potential for upgrades, I have a Web cam .430 lift cam, R&D performance valve springs, black diamond valves, polished exhaust port, matched intake manifold, Weisco 10.25:1 compression piston, FMF powerbomb header, FMF megamax 2 silencer, k&n filter, modified air box lid, stiffer spring in the accelerator pump,EBC dirt racer clutch, 14-41 gearing, ITP .190 aluminum rims (offset in the rear), front wheel spacers (4 inches total), 22 inch holeshot XCT's in the rear, 23 inch holeshot XCT's in the front, Tag x5 handlebars, twist throttle, perfectly set-up stock suspension, shock covers, nerf bars, custim painting on many part, custom polishing on many parts, My warrior sits wide and somewhat tall, I have never had a problem wheelieing on to the rear grab bar and holding it for 50 feet with only putting a knee on the seat. Wheelieing is about rider control and throttle and clutch balance, it isnt really about the motor (allthough it greatly helps). Geez if guys i know can wheelie grizzy 660's, sportsman 700's, Sportsman 500's, and Kodiak Ultramatics than surley you guys can wheelie a warrior. As for the 400ex guys i have no problem with the 400ex, i think its a really good machine but with more mid to top power than torque, I like the 400ex but i like my modified warrior much much much more. As for the Mojave, the Mojave has a high tech motor (dual overhead cams, 4 valves and liquid cooling) with very lackluster performance, even all the magazines have said the Mojave does not live up to its potential, A warrior will easily roost all over a Mojave but i guess its all up to personal preference as to the power of a machine (some people like crazy speed, some like much more torque.) As for the reliabilty of Yamaha v.s Honda, both have excellent relaibility records but both make mistakes in the initial years of production but quickly fix the problem (ex, the brakes on the 400ex and the clutch on the raptor). I dont know why all you people just go out and buy brand new sport quads that wont go as fast as older modified ones and both would cost around the same if you spend wisely. And finally for all the people making fun of people for where they live, whats the point? seriously? does attacking someones character with predeterminded stereotypes help you feel better about yourslef? This is supposed to be an ATV forum not a verbal boxing match, why dont all you people that make fun of others apply your time to working on your quads and learing about setting them up cause if you know the right set up for yourslef than really theres nothing to complain about. I did all the work on my quad myslef and there has never been a better learining experience for me.

No i still have this thing. Its fun to climb the huge hills around hear but thats it. We have a lot of 15 foot drop offs and this thing always wants to nose dive and bottom out. Decided i would try to concentrate on finding parts for my kaw.

hey modded warrior do those valves help? Did you read my mods? i think they may be just the finishing touch on my ported head. I also wonder how good is that powerbomb head pipe and how much? Also what do you think about an electron carb verses yours........ no accelerator pump but alot more reliable and alot more flow on top end. Your bike seems kick@ss i like the sound of your mods us warrior ppl have to stick together. Can you handle modded 400s or just stock ones? My bike smokes all but the best 400s in the woods but in a drag only a stock one will succumb to my power. Also can you do a 5 angle job on those valves you got? I know these are alot of questions but please try to oblige me i know i can help you out as well sometime. Do you run stock shocks still? i know i wouldnt ride without my ohlins and tcs rear shock.

KENTUCKYHILLBILLY,

I had a VERY modded race Warrior and I ended up haveing to go with the titanium valves and springs because the stock ones couldnt handle the load and I blew my engine because of them. I atcually blew it so bad that the valve stem stuck its self into the head (my mechanic said it was the worst engine blow hes ever seen, including the with the Banshees)! I got the engine rebuilt and broke it in and one of the valves bent again but this time I caught it before it blew So I was told by White Brothers that there new titanium valves and springs were the way to go, and they gave me them for free! When I got them in it made all the difference in the world, it ran great from then on! Never had another valve problem! I'd really suggest titanium valves if you have a built Warrior trust me its worth it!

Kentucky Hillbilly, I got the valves from Webcam, there stainless steel. I havent had a chance to try them yet because im still in the process of putting the motor back together. Im not sure if you can do a five-angle port job on the black diamond valves you'd have to ask web cam about that or take them to a machine shop. As for the powerbomb header i loved it, it gave it a much nicer tone, crisp throttle response, lots more power everywhere and when i had the k&n, modified airbox and megamax 2 combined with it my quad ran spot on with a 150 at 860 feet. The price is $350 canadian. The powerbomb is the only head pipe available from FMF for the Warrior now because the dont make the hi-flow header for the warrior anymore. In my opinion the powerbomb is well worth it. I haven't heard about the electron carb, who makes it and what does it sell for? I've never had any problems with my BTM36 its always offered enough flow and my quad has never cut out on top.I live in a place where theres alot of mud so all of the quads here are 4x4's, im one of the only ones here with a sport quad and the other sport quads are a stock warrior and a slightly modified blaster, When i go to saskatoon im going to race against some 400ex's-modded and stock, A raptor, 250r, 300ex, scrambler 500 and mojave's. If i get my warrior finished this weekend a friend of mine has a friend coming here from alberta with his raptor and i want to do a little comparative driving (drags) i know its a tough race but with my calculations i should be around the same horsepower (38-42), And i have better tires and the area's where we race are loosly packed dirt and my machine has had excellent hook up. I still run my stock shocks, I run my front ones on the stiffest preload and the spring on the rear shock cranked all the way, i adjust the compression clicker to compensate for terrain or if thats not enough i loosen my rear spring to allow better weight transfer but i'll have to find the perfect set up again with all the more power. I do quite a bit of jumping and i've never bottomed out, or nose dived, I get like 4 feet of air. I was thinking about getting AT steelers and a quadcross from works later on or i might buy a set of the ohlins shocks that are on the Yamaha SRX700 snowmobile because there the same length and have remote resivours.I need to get my Warrior finished this weekend because its going to snow here right away.

Thanx for answering my questions wat do u guys think about wb's header for the warrior. Not thier slip ons but their actual header. And do you think a powerbomb will work with a e series exhaust?

You don't need a aftermarket headpipe for the Warrior it's not worth it. The stock one is already oversized enough, the only reason for getting a new one would be for looks deffinatally not performance.

Big bubba, I agree the head pipe is oversized on the warrior but the powerbomb did help, no matter how oversized the stock headpipe is, oversized will always be better if you have an aftermarket silencer, On mine the megamax 2 was trying to flow more exhaust than the head pipe could provide so right away i went and bought the powerbomb and noticed a great increase in power, Keep in mind this was without my motor mods, this was when i only had the megamax 2, k&n, and modified airbox lid, maybe a head pipe didn't work on yours because you had the motor mods. But if you go look at any warrior set up for racing im almost positive none of them will have a stock head pipe (unless its some amatuer kid)
