I am looking into purchasing a new 4x4 and the price of a new Timberwolf is a very strong draw. I saw a posting that lead me to believe this ATV had many short comings. I would like to know if anyone has first knowledge in this ATV, Pros and Cons. any recomendations of other ATV's are welcomed.

The price was a draw to me as well but the dealer would not let me test ride without a purchase deposit. The test ride was to determine if what I read was true, that the T-wolf is underpowered. (Don't know what effect 2x4 -vs- 4x4 has if any). Needless to say, I didn't buy from that dealer, in fact, I said c-ya, you don't need my business. The unpleasant part I experienced about my ultimate atv purchase was that several Florida dealers wanted purchase deposits before test riding, even though the machine was already set up and on display in the showroom.
I eventually bought the 00 Big Bear 4x4. It's a bear and has plenty of power for many applications. Good luck on your shopping!

I've ridden a new 4x4 timberwolf. i was very disappointed in the engine. i used to own a '93 two wheel drive. the extra components pull the motor down alot. the gearing in the transmission needs to be rethought and maybe some engine work to get more power.
