I need some more info. Is this happening when you are riding it? Any mods and has the engine ever been worked on and by who.

This is prominent whenever you rev it, either sitting still or driving, it's not specific to either. also it sure doesn't feel as snappy on the top as our 94 did, seems to fall on its face where it should really be starting to scream.

the vibration is very obtrusive, and obviously not normal, just bought the quad, guy claims never been fixed at all, with very little use. there is no evidence of the head being off, or the case being split, looks all stock. quad has zero mods.

Heard of something like this in the tech forum at atving.com, you can look it up. On a one cylinder engine there is a balancer gear. Actually it's a counter balancer that runs exactly opposite the crankshaft which is lop-sided. The object is to offset the out of balance force in the crank. Somebody probably took apart the bottom end and didn't align the punch marks on the balancer gear. I know it has to be done because I rebuilt my Blaster bottom end last summer and was curious about this odd shaped balancer thing. Half of the people that sell used things are full time liars and the other half lie half the time.

P.S. I just checked my Clymer manual and the balancer gear can be sync'd up by removing the clutch housing, clutch and the balancer gear. This can be done with the engine in the bike, not splitting the transmission.
