I was looking at getting a new Warrior or Banshee but I want it to be able to beat my friends stock scrambler 500.Will a Warrior do the trick or should i get the Banshee?

I am new in the quad world but from what I have seen at my local gravel pit is that my banshee beats my friends 400 scrambler with ease. Should beat the 500 I imagine. haven't raced a worrior yet.

Depends on the terrain if the Scrambler is a 4x4... either way, comparing a Scrambler to a true sport quad configuration is kinda hokey. A Warrior could probably take a Scrambler 500 2x4 despite its displacement advantage. Considering a Warrior weighs ~115lbs less dry than the 500 2x4. Buuuut, the Warrior is just a so-so performer (in my opinion).

So don't be a schmo, get a Banshee or Raptor (or 400EX or Z400 for that matter). Just stay away from the psuedo-sport minnesotan machines if you value your dignity (you can laugh now).

I am here to tell you that you better go with the Banshee.......A warrior stands no chance againist a Scrambler.......I have raced warriors and stumped on them pretty well....So just go with the Banshee. I am not even going to comment on AlaskaYFM comments about Polaris...I am pretty pleased with mine...

You can comment on my comment if you like, just don't make it personal. If you like your Scrambler, more power to you.

I guess I could see a Scramble beating a Warrior in a drag race. I mean, hell, the machine should have no problem keeping the tires from spinning with all that weight (571lbs dry). Seriously, though, how do you like jumping your Scrambler? If it wasn't for the 4x4 would you still have it? I rode a buddies Sport 400L once and I just couldn't get over the heaviness and how wide the machine was. I didn't dare jump that thing very high. It liked to "thud". But I guess once you ride a 250R you can never go back. My Raptor weighs less than 400lbs and I still think that it is a tank...lol.

Anyways, thanks for the correction, OhioScrambler.

before i blew my 400 scram up it would scream, and i bet it would beat a stock banshee, and give a piped and filtered banshee a run for it's money, I know it would beat a 400ex, but I dont know if the 500 is as fast, cuz i heard the 400's are faster, but I'd go with a banshee, raptor, 400ex, or z400, if youre wanting to beat one person, why not get the best and beat them all.

I have no problem jumping my 500.......I do think I need different shocks and springs though.....I am pretty happy with it so far...And had friends that were making fun of me at the beginning of the ride ,but were pretty impressed by the end of the day. I got no problem with anyone's quad. I like them all. And I love to ride....Going to Maysville Kentucky this weekend. 2000 acres!!!! Can't wait..... And I never try to make it personal AlaskaYFM. Thanks and keep riding hard.

My 400 would beat a Warrior stock for stock with ease. Supposedly the 500 Scram is about the same speed stock so I would say that it would take a Warrior as well.

Unfortunatly for the Scrambler, the Banshee isn't quite as easy to beat. Stock for stock the 400 Scram may pull it out of the hole, but the Banshee WILL catch up and beat it. If you had a rolling start (the Banshee in the powerband in 2nd) I don't think that the Polaris would pull ahead at all, but I have never tried it that way.

With the mods that I have on my Polaris I can get a good jump on a stock Shee, but on top-end it still goes screaming by.

Personally I think that the Scrambler/Sport are great trail quads. I would prefer to be on one of them when you get to the tough parts of the trail (mud, rocks, logs), but once you get to a place where speed and handling make a difference then the smaller quads are deffinatly easier to handle. The big Polaris isn't the ideal jumping quad either, but it can handle most jumps from a recreational rider. All in all it is big and heavy, but it get's the job done just fine.

If beating your friends Scrambler means that much to you get a Banshee. He would have to put a mint into his 500 to get it up to that level. However if he had the 400 Scrambler he could mod it to compete againts a stock Banshee pretty easily. The same things goes for the Warrior...stock for stock the Polaris is faster, but I'm sure with enough mods the Warrior could be quicker against the 500 Scram.

What if I were to add 2teeth on a Warriors small sproket would that give any extra top end?
