After reading a earlier post of tranny issues.
I seen a post with certain vin # ,

I had to go home and check.
4200's. OH JOY!!

I ride 3 weekends a month, about 39 -40 hours a month.
I don't run extremly hard, But I do push it. I'm not gentle.

I change oil, and do all maintance and cleaning on a regular basis.

** knock on wood ** no problems with tranny yet.

I went to my local dealer, And had a talk with the owner/manager, asked about tranny issue. Im scared of this thing locking up on me while riding and getting hurt.

They told me that out of all the quads sold and went out there door,
2 were returned with the tranny issue. That with only a chosen few having difficulties that it could be justified as rider error. If there was a weak point in the tranny, It isn't in all models, possibly Just a few batches assembled incorrectly.
Not enough to justify a recall. He also said that the rumored problem have been addressed and looked into, that the supossed weak points have been corrected in the new models.

He talked and riddles and politicly protected his Butt.
Wonder if he had training??? I wonder what it'll take for yama to take notice?
god forbid, Serious injury? death?

I was nervous before, Now after talking to him, He just made it worse.
I love my raptor, I love everything about it.

I am scared that one day climbing hill on trail when I need dependability most, A tranny fails.

Just my 2 cents

3cross,
My serial number is in the 4700s. But to be honest I don't think that matters. I've seen reports of machines with serial numbers in the 16,000s that have failed. Consider this, the lower serial numbers being the first to hit the dealers are going to be the first sold and have more hours on them making them likely to be the first to fail. I know this is an oversimplication but I believe we soon will be seeing more reports of transmissions failing in Raptors with higher serial numbers.
