I have a 99 timberwolf and every once and a while it downshifts on a hill automatically. Is this normal, or why does it do this??

My cousin's 84 Moto-4 200 does the same thing. Thanks, Sean

I think that wheeling could do a little damage but not that much. On my 200 it used to do this and I found out that the clutch wasn't engaging fully so I adjusted it.Also take the shifter off and put it back on lower so you can more easily pull up farther to also make sure the clutch is fully engaging. Also on mine every hour I have to give it a 5 min break to let the clutch cool down.I'm looking into an aftermarket clutch kit.
