Hi,
You may want to check the cable, see if it's getting stuck, then you can check your carb and make sure the butterflies are not sticking, one other thing is that maybe your engine is not getting enough oil, some engines will take off like that when they lean out. My thoughts, hope this helps

HEy, do you go to the sand dunes alot? cause on my blaster, after a while, sand go built up in the little box tthat the trotle cable runs to by the carb, adn since the throtle button is spring loaded it comes back no matter what. but when the dirt gets built up inside of the box, it makes the cable stick and that can be soemthing that is doin it

I also own a y2k blaster that does that but only when its cold out.Two different things have been the culprit; One water and mud got into the cable and froze the cure thaw it out and spray wd40 into the cable, two the thumb throttle got water into the plastic bushing inside the housing and froze the cure take it apart and clean it with wd40.You may also have a broken or worn out return spring inside the thumb throttle housing that can not be fixed with wd40 so you'll need to replace the spring.
