I've got 27's and they will rub if you hit a jump or something. I trimmed a half inch off the bottom of the rear fenders to lessen the effect. Fronts clear easily. No regrets with the larger tires. It affects the speedometer, but thats not something to cry about. The tranny doesn't pull the big tires as good up steep rough hills though. Low range will pull it anywhere.

Garyhart,
<< silver bear, who sells those tires at good price thinking about the same set up. >>
MTA..there number is: 1-800-288-4682
Ya, from the pics I've seen, reviews I've read, and peoples comments on these forums, this seems like a pretty good setup. I can't wait to try them new claws.
cc1999-are you going to pipe your grizz?

Oh no. I have never been disappointed in the Griz. I have found good prices on tires at East Kentucky Motorsports at http://www.4atvtires.com/
Beat anybody I could find in GA.

Just to chime in...
I've got 140 miles and 19 hours on mine and it's been a very positive experience. Went out last weekend for a 40 mile ride on power line trails -great stuff; steep up and down grades, river crossings and mud bogs... The machine ran like a champ.
I crossed a 20 ft wide river blindly, not knowing how deep it was (but did see other tracks indicating that people have crossed before) the front end went under for a second, popped back up and bobbed across as the rear tires pushed me through. No sputtering to speak of.
Also went though a mud bog and slipped off a covered ridge into deep, heavy slop- about 3 ft high. Opened her up and rocked her like a fat hooker on a cold night until I made through to the other side. Felt good to get out of the office, get some fresh air and feel like a real man.
Great times, great machine.

Trailraker,
That rockin does seem to do the trick at times, doesn't it? Great to hear your experience with your Grizz..I hope to be heading out again next weekend, we have around 8-10 inches of snow at the house and I'm looking forward to riding some hills and see how the old girl does. I see you have the camo grizz....that color is a thing of beauty.

I am going to purchase a new Yamaha Atv this month.I now own a 1996 Kokiak.Ready to trade-in & looking at a Grizzly 660 or regular Grizzly. I do a lot of ice fishing & pulling a sled.Anyone have any comments on ultra matic transmission with belt for slipping compared to my 5 speed. Also another concern I have & have no experience with is my 96 is a air-cooled engine & the 660 is liquid cooled ( any comment to help me out would be greatly appreciated )Since I do lots of travelling in winter cold weather.
Thanks again, Bob

Disney,
I'm not sure how much I can help you as I'm pretty new with the Grizzly myself. I haven't had any problems the the Ultramatic Transmission with slipping (in or out of water). As for being liquid cooled...I would assume just to make sure you have your antifreeze up to snuff in the cold weather. We're in the mid 20's right now..and I haven't seen an issue with the Grizz yet.
If you do purchase a 660, I'm sure you will be happy with it.
