I'am glad you got your axle replaced under warranty, so did I, but my point is this should never have happened to you or me or anyone else, yamaha does have axle problems and wheel bearing problems!!!!!! Yes, you do grab a little air when riding just about everyone I know does!!!!! Everyone knows that the Wolverine has been portrayed as a sport 4x4, if I wanted somthing to putt around on and not jump, ride in the mud,not climb on,not drive fast on, in other words HAVE NO FUN ON, I would drive my lawnmower!!!! JUST MY TWO CENTS WORTH!!!!

I think the title "kodiac axle prob." is a bit misleading and generalized. It seems to be an isolated case and possibly a case of mistreatment of a utility bike. I have a y2kodiac and have rode it as hard as my timberwolf and recon with no problems. It is a great machine w/4x4 on command and excellent power and features. My t\wolf had a similar design on the axle and I never had a problem in 4 years. The kodiac axle appears to be stronger looking. However, any machine, when pushed beyond it limits will break.

My intention wasn't to make any generalizations about the Kodiak. I, too, have been extremely pleased with mine. The posting was titled "Kodiak Axle Problem" because we had an Axle problem (bent) and it was on a Kodiak. That simple. As far as mistreatment of the quad, or "pushing it beyond it limits"...it wasn't. The axle should not have bent. Apparantly, Yamaha agrees. They're replacing it.

I'm glad they replaced it for you. Maybe it was a defective axle since the other riders didn't have a problem.
