I HAVE A FIX FOR THE WARRIOR REVERSE PROBLEM
#1
my 96 warrior used to miss a hit and not run good at high rpms when the reverse *** was not set back in just the right spot.as far as i know most warrior have this problem.here is how io fixed it..
on the stock clutch perch there is a little sensor that goes off when you pull in the clutch to switch into reverse. well i popped out this sensor and i put on an msr clutch bracket and lever(for a yz 125) and i have had no more problems. but you have to leave the sensor hooked up b/c if you dont you cant use reverse or start in any gear so all i did was hide the sensor under the front plastic down behind the lights. what i think was happening was the sensor was going off at the wrong times, but like i siad after i put on that perch and new clutch lever i have no more problems with the reverse messing up my engine performance.
if anyone else have done this and had the same out come. please reply. thanks

I have a 1990 warrior that had a similar problem. It turns out that within the reverse lever mechanism there is a "kill switch" so you dont put the bike in R while moving fwd in a fwd gear - or something like that. This switch was getting sloppy and causing my bike to "randomly" die. My solution was to disconnect the little wire going into to back of the reverse lever. You lose the reverse light and must pull in the clutch to start it but....Heck, it's been that for for over 6 years without any problems. Maybe not the best fix but it's a work-around if you are out in the desert (or woods). The shop confirmed it was a problem with the warriors.
