Its so nice to join the forums, I plan on going to little sahara soon so I bought an 98 banshee only about 20hrs like new for $1500, but it has no spark, stator seems fine-headlight shines when you kick it over, overode the torrs system like i read in another forum, one person told me it may be the cdi? located under the fenders out back, he said the coil wasn't getting any juice.anyplace online to get this item or any other info would be greatly appreciated, also any shops around houston? i plan on fixing her up a little,i,m stepping up from a warrior and cant wait to get after it on this beast i've read so much about "THE POWER" I have an extra $1200 to improve it,i was thinking of a pro-flow 0r k&n filter, fmf gnarly pipes, shaving the head or going with a cool head, some after market water impeller ive read about, paddle tires, and ???? whatever else that seems to work good together thx sharkfin

I would check the cdi box, clean all of the connections. This has happened to me a couple of times, they come loose and get dirty. Unplug them make sure the metal is clean and the connectors are tight. My first Banshee was in the shop for a month, they couldn't figure it out then a friend of mine that used to race them came and got it with me and found the prob....

One of the FIRSTthings I would do is get a CLYMERS MANUAL, availible at any local Yamaha shop. Then I would check the CDI, if it turns out bad, there are a few place online you can get them...

Or you can even check out Ebay, I have seen them on there a few times.Hope this helps in one way or another....
