Raptor lawsuit
Dear thinks he knows alot WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT it is not caused by the neglegence of the rider but instead the poor design by yamaha that causes the transmission to lock up. The problem is that yamaha refuses to take responsibility for the design flaw. Why then did they change the design in 2002 if there was not a problem in 2001. P.S are you a yamaha employee

Yep, old thread here. Bottom line here is not the money for me. Accountability is the issue here. If a manufacturer sells me a defective product, then they should stand behind it. Manufacturers have been building bulletproof transmissions for ages and Yamaha still dropped the ball. Why? Because the trans was not redesigned for an atv until 02. Besides adding reverse, nothing else was changed from the overseas street bike. Redrocker (a member here) took Yamaha too court and Yamaha settled out of court concerning his 01 Raptor trans.

I wish you fellas luck on the class action suit. I don't know if your efforts will bear fruit. I think that because the vehicle is "recreational" it is shielded from lemon-laws. I could be wrong, I am not a lawyer by any means. I did watch an awful lot of Matlock with my grandparents though!
