More Info

The price I gave you $5112.00 American is the out the door price. No set up. No freight. Nothing. The only thing you have to pay is at the border (customs) you have to pay 2.7% duty. For me with my price it works out to be $138.00.

QichaBichin,
If there's anyone who has paid less than "Full Boat" price for anything at Reynolds Motorsports I'd like to hear about it. I attempted to buy my first ATV, a Honda 300 FourTrax, from them but they wouldn't knock off a penny. That's what happens when you've got a lock on the local market. I ended up buying it in Dover, NH for $200 under MSRP. I bought my 2000 Kodiak in Canada from Gagne Lessard Sports, in Coaticook, Quebec. It's the closest Canadian Yamaha dealer, about 200 miles, for me here in southern Maine. I paid $5057.63 and that was with the Warn 2000 winch installed. US duty, when I got to the border, was some $200 more. Remember NAFTA doesn't apply to bikes built in Japan. The dealer took care of the Quebec tax, so I had no forms to send in or time to wait to get my money back. As far as warranty work is concerned, it doesn't take long for the 6 months they give you to roll by, and I took my chances that nothing significant would go wrong with it. As far as normal maintenance goes, changing the fluids, adjusting valves, relining brakes, etc., I do myself because I have a vested interest in the quality of the work performed. I've heard too many horror stories about shoddy craftmanship at dealerships. If and when I buy my next ATV, I'm still satisfied with the the Kodiak for now, I'll be off to Coaticook again.

Reynolds sucks. I buy all of my stuff at K&K Motorsports in Presque Isle. QichaBitchin, do you ride at the Dayton pit?

Have any of you tried Jackman Motorsport. I heard they had good prices and there on the US-Canada line, but there in the US so warrenty work should be no problem.

To answer you question I personally raked Reynold's over the coals when i bought my R-1. 2 years ago. I made a deal with Woody's in Topsham to purchase one they were getting on trade from Reynold's for about $9500. I went to Reynold's just to sit on the thing and make sure it was what I wanted when the sales geek came up to me. Iplayed the game. I told him that woody's was selling me the R-1 they were receiving from Reynold's for $9200 out the door. They got pissed and met the price. I felt good about that one cause I hate Reynold's.
I feel the same way about the warranty. I'm gambling that I won't have any problems in the first 6 months anyway. I to do all my own work so I know what the hell is done to my stuff. I don't trust most dealer mechanics anyway. They may know more but I proven that they do nothing and charge you for it. or take their damn time and bill you for it.

I have never gone to the Dayton Pit. I mostly ride the metropolis of trails in the Sanford area. One could ride from Sanford to the Dayton Pit though. Try Abbott's Mountain. It's a great ride, very technical rock face climb. I last did it on a Warrior. I grew up in Standish and rode the trails in the area of the Army Base in Hollis alot then but i haven't been in years.Text

I e-mailed several dealers in Canada, and this is the only response that I got. This message is from ATC Corral, in Ontario, Canada.

Dear Valued Customer:

I am sorry but we are not allowed to sell any new machines to U.S. Citizens, under any circumstance.

Thanks for your inquiry,

Bill

I don't know what it is that you are trying to buy but if you are looking to buy a Yamaha try Knapp Racing, Prescott, Ontario. I'll dig up the email address in a few and post it. Ron Knapp has worked very well with me. He is givin me a kickin price. Well worth the trip (400 miles or so) to Ontario.

ok here's Ron's email ron.knapp@sympatico.ca

Please only use it for serious inquiries.

If you want more dealers email addresses go to:

www.yamaha-motor.ca

Then click the dealer locator. It will give you all the dealers in each specific province.

I emailed about 30 dealers and got quotes from about 12-15. Another wonderful dealer I dealt with was Motor Sports World near Ottawa. Chris there is the one who helped me with all the details in regards to tax refunds and border crossing duty. Chris is at www.motorsportsworld.com
go to sales section. He gave me a great price still saving a grand from buying here but just couldn't catch Ron's price.

Good Luck To All.

I just bought a 2002 Kodiac SE. Before I bought this bike I priced a regular Kodiac and they told me $9700.00 (Canadian) on the road. So that makes the bike about 8300 bucks give or take. To purchase a Kodiac SE its about 3-400.00 dollars more.
