I have gotten quite a few other opinions, and they all seem to think that the shifter star is worn out. Everyone I have talked to said that this is a common problem on Banshee's, and that it causes the problems that I have described. The part is $16.27 from Ronnies, and a gasket is really cheap. What do you think? Could this be the problem? The maintnence guy at my shop said that he thought that might be the problem, but he wasn't sure. I guess I should take the clutches out, and see. But before I do, I'd like to get an idea of what the problem is. Thanks guys, keep the info. coming.

Just a thought but we had the same thing happen to my banshee so we split the cases inspected every thing inside replaced the shift shaft and still nothing so we did some more investigating and it turned out to be in the adjustment on the end of the shifting star its real touchy

Lonestar:
What I was saying is that its a possibilty that a shaft/gear could be bad. I would always start out w/ the easiest repair and work from there. Rule out the obvious first.
