We notice that on ice or a hill climb the 02 grizzly darts back and forth really hard,we have a Highlifter lift kit and 28s outlaws on it and if your on Ice and gun it, and if some one is looking at the fourwheeler you see the tires toe end and almost look as if they are wobbling. no broken parts found, woundering if its the lift kit is causing the problems? all feed back is welcome!

AtomicAustin:

Aransas Pass, you wouldn't happen to be a duck hunter would ya? I just found out I might have 2000 acres near Port A i can hunt next year.

Anwyways, back to my Grizz (or Yamaha question). When I was at my dealer they told me that anything over 27" tires voids the warrenty, so my question would a lift with those big 28" void the warrenty or is the dealer just blowing smoke?

Thanks

Brad

Some dealers don't mind. Some do, mine doesnt. My dealer thinks its the lift kit causing the problem.

Some dealers will sell them to you with the tires on them. A lot of dealers here will have a bigfoot kit on a showroom model.

As for the lift, when you lift, you will screw up your toe in/ toe out. You will have to adjust your tie rods to make up for the different angle the a-arms are at. I had to do this on my Arctic Cat and it was a real pain. In my opinion, its the worst part about lifting a quad. Re-alignment is just a hit or miss thing, and I think it took me like 3-4 times on the AC before I got it right.

We adjusted it for the lift but it seems wrong. If some one is in front of you and you gun it in fourwheel drive the front end lift the suspenion and the wheels point at each other! I pulled the lift off last night and will check it tommorro.

Thats just the lift and the extra pressure on the a-arms forcing them both downward when weight it reduced on the front end. When you gun it, the weight of the quad shifts to the rear wheels, and lightens up the front allowing the suspension to lower. Same thing if you jack up the front end. You will notice your a-arms will extend down a lot and the tires will pidgeon toe hard. I don't know of any cure, because if you straighten it out for this, they will point outward too much when the full weight of the quad is on them.

Solid Axle? I thought this Grizzly problem was in the front end? I don't think they have a lift for the rear on the 660.

Its not just for the Grizzly, anything will dip in with a lift if the weight comes up off the rear. Ok, I understand you now. You're talking about the IRS sagging and taking all the weight. Got it now. I can understand that. Still, my Arctic Cat had a straight axle and did this, but not often, and only if you got the tires off the ground. Plus, the AC has 100lbs. more on the front tires than the rear.
