I'm looking for a new quad...

Hello. I'm a fairly new rider. I have a TTR 225 that I ride now, it was a great bike to learn on, but I want more! What do you suggest for a first quad? I want speed & mud!

i would have suggested a 300EX too but if you ride a 250X then i would say step it up to a 400EX cuz that quad will let you learn to go fast unlike some other quads like a 250R or raptor. and im notsaying that 400s arent fast, im just saying they have very good handling and a nice smooth powerband that anyone can learn on.

um...judging by your weight and height you might be comfortable on a ds650, jk
um you should go for a 300ex or a warrior, but if you want to hit any jumps and go over 4-5 feet go w/ the 300ex...should be a great quad, but if you think you are gonna get alot bigger go w/ the warrior..personally id go w/ the 300ex...i dont care that the warrior is a little faster, its also alot heavier, and i would say the 300ex has better ergonomics..

Are you looking for a sport quad go with the 400ex very nice quad to start on, has good rideable power band if you like trails sligtly under powered but perfect for a beginner such as yourself. It will allow you to grow into it unlike if you go with a smaller quad you will grow out of it.

105 lbs, definately a Griz660. Bahaha. Just kidding.
Raptor would probably be too much for you, you're so light it wouldn't even know you were there. I'm 6' ~235lbs and it has noooo problems hauling me around at speed. I've also crashed 3 times, last one cost me some cash and the one before that gave me some new scars to show off. It's my second quad, so it's a heck of a learning curve but boy is it fun.
I liked my Warrior, just wanted more speed. And the gear ratios on the Warrior seemed weird to me, I could never find a gear it was happy with.
Haven't ridden the 400's so I can't really say. They don't have reverse though, big pain in the butt if you ever get stuck somewhere (especially in the mud hehe). The little Honda 250's are fun, easy to maintain, but under powered once you start pushing them. That's why I bought my Raptor, don't have that problem. If you're looking for another bike I'll sell you my YZ426F at a heck of a price. Runs like a champ, starts easy (for one of these bikes anyways), and I garantee you won't get bored with it hehe.
