i recognize your topic. i bought a friggin Grizzly660 about 2 months ago and i took it through some mud and snow. things were great until my belt started slipping. I took it to the dealer and they said that some mud got into the crank case and that it would be a costly repair even though it was still under warranty. if i were you i wouldn't buy a Grizzly any other yamaha is good though.

This is just my opinion, but the quest could win absolutely every shoot out ever conceived by man, and until they loose that crossbreed look of a moped and a quad, they're not going to gobble up much market share.

Oh and by the BadBomb I was just pointing out the fact that the same mag contradicted its self in less the three months.. I don't base my quad purchases on what I read in them I just read them for the entertainment value kinda like watching Jerry Springer... I don't base the way I live my life on the way the guest on that show live and act but I do enjoy the entertainment of the show.

here is an answer to the origional question!!! i took my grizzly through some of the nastiest swamp crud you can emagine!! i was doing real good till i hit a bigger hole, lol, and went down till i could not see the rear rack anymore!!!
well, after getting wenched out, i was pleased to see no water in the oil, and the air box was dry, probibally couse i fought so hard to keep the top of the tank above water. the belt and casing was caked with mud!!! i took it all apart only to find 10 lbs of mud, sand, and even small sticks in there. what i have found by removing all body panels is that the air intake and exhaust for the tranny belt is right against the racks, under the plastic. if you keep the thing above water on the front and rear plastic, you'll be fine. i on the other hand am now beginning the snorkle process, couse i love mud!!!
the parts are all fine, just a **** load of cleaning involved. i will never go through cleaning like this again. i am snorkling both vents, and it should be pritty easy, and also the airbox. i havent found all other breather tubes and vents, but i will. when i am all done, i will post pics of the finished product for you all to see.
1 small question i do have is if i can move the airbox wherever i want, as long as its sealed all the way to the carb??? anyone who might know, please respond, and thanks!
