Contacted my local newspaper the other day and informed them I had well over a thousand signatures on my petition to get some atv trails reopened. They seemed very interested in the story when I talked to them, and they called and interviewed me today. The reporter also saw little sense in the Corp of Eng. reasoning for closing the trails. She said she would get their response and give me a call back soon. Just wanted to inform and thank all of ya'll who signed my petition and would also like to invite anyone else who hasn't to do so. Here's the address to My Petition.

Thanks

Josh Williams

02Kodiak~

Congrats to you for stepping up and starting the petition rather then watching another area be closed down. And congrats to everyone who took the time to help all of us maintain the rights to our public lands. Please keep us informed. If I run across something like that in my area, you can bet I'll do the same and come to the forums for support as well. The enviro-zealots aren't letting up, so if we snooze, we will loose.

Found out today they are running the story this weekend! Lady said the Corp would not be happy when she called them for an interview. I hope they aren't because I would get a little satisfaction out of that. It just isn't right how these guys try to walk all over us (atleast in my area). Tks again to those who have signed and the links in the original post for those who haven't.

Tks

02Kodiak, I 'm glad that you continue to fight the Corp. of Engineers in your fight to keep the trails open. I too have been spreading the word regarding this whole mess and hope everything works out in the end.

Knowsalot,

I appreciate your help. If it gets reopened I am going to run an ad in the paper to notify folks and hopefully have a huge ride. Hope you can participate.

razormazer,

I'm from Senatobia (about 30 miles south of Memphis). The area i'm trying to get reopened is on the north side of Arkabutla Lake in Tate/Desoto counties.

That sucks. There's an area right near my house run by the Core of Engineers, it's the closest (legal) place to ride and seems to get a fair amount of traffic. I would not be amused if they closed it down.

02Kodiak, I hope that I do get the chance to take you up on that trail ride offer.

Just keep posting on here with news on how it's going.
