Reno,
All that i can tell you is that i am still breaking in my Griz but i have opened her up a lil...hit 60 according to the speedo... not sure how acurate that is...and i still had some throttle left.
I will post an update on the pro's/con's of what i see on this machine as the spring passes into summer and i can get more time in the saddle! :-)
good luck and ride safe!

I have had my Grizzly up to 73mph.
That was in 2-WD, on flat, frozen sand, half of a tank of gas, nothing on the racks, only the driver (me @ 6' tall, 220lbs laying low in the saddle). The temps were in the mid-30's & I was just about at sea level.
It took less than 8 seconds to get to 65 mph, and maybe another 10-12 seconds to get to 73mph. I didn't sustain that speed for more than a few seconds. If I had left the throttle pegged it may have climbed another mph or so. I don't know. I do know that by doing so you compromise your factory warrenty.
That was plenty fast enough for me. I am going to put 27" Titans on it this month (just in time for 'break-up' here in South Central Alaska ). I wanted to see what it could do. I know I will loose the 'sportability' of the machine with the aggressive tires.

with the stock tires on it, I got mine up to 68 on the speedo, and the gps read 65. i kinow it would have gone faster, but i ran out of room. it didn't take too long to get there, it was bout a 150 to 200 yard road. with my new tires, 26 in titan 589, i would guess it would go faster, but take longer to get there.

I'm not sure what ya'll have done to your Grizz's, but I don't see how that could be just stock. I topped out at 67 goin just barely downhill. Although this was on a dirt road, I still don't see it reaching 73 considering that this was about four days after I broke it in, it was spotless, it was a cool day, and as far as wieght goes, I'm pushin 150lbs. Now I'm not tryin to bash anyone or call ya'll liers, I just dont see how it is possible especially considering the difference in rider wieghts. But either ya'll have done somethin to your grizz's or maybe there is something wrong with mine, but I just don't see it happening.
