metal shavings in my oil
#11
Ya I m sorry about the yamaha bashing. Man I love my warrior its just that you buy a new one so ya dont have to mess with it then im prob. goint to have tear it apart and work on it. Yamaha prod. the best sports atv on the market except the 400ex which is awsome.

I have a 96 warrior, and about every other oil change it has filings in the oil, not a lot, just a few. this quad has probably 4000 hrs on it, and the motor has never been worked on. just keep up with regular maintenance: change oil, clean air filter, and i've only adjusted the valves twice. if i were you paintblaster, i would just keep on changing the oil, and not be concerned about it.

Get a magnetic drain plug so those metal shavings don't get somewhere where they can cause trouble.

I have a 1999 yamaha bigbear 350 i just got. I found metal shavings in the oil filter and somthing that looks like some fibers like fine threds. I know it has a bad VALVE SEAL so i took the head off and the piston out. I dont think the filter has been changed in it for the last year or two but every thing is tite with no slop and moves freely. Can some one help me????
