On my Banshee I stripped out the nut that goes on the ball joint. I think it is called a castle nut. I plan on going riding tommorrow so I called the local dealership and they didnt have anything in stock. A friend recommended going to the local hardware store and get. Is this possible and if so what do I need to ask them for. Thanks a lot for the help.

Take the one off the other side & take it with you to match up the threads (don't forget their metric.). My Ace hardware store has castle nuts but I don't rember if they had metric ones. You can use a regular nut temporaraly if you loctite it (use blue not red or you may not get it off), the "castles" are for a pin to lock it into place. This will at least get you on the trail till you find the right nut.

if you find the right nut, tighten as tight as it will be when you ride, mark where the hole is going through, then if you have a metal saw, you can make a temporary castle nut and use a cotter pin. by the way dont cut it too deep......SNAP, crash etc.
