Skids are first and foremost, if you ride at Haspen or even the Badlands, you will need them very shortly.

1)swing arm plate ****is a must, don't buy a DG..they suck and their too expensive. I have one and I had to buy a tm designworks rub block to keep the chain from bounce off it. I called them about it and they said if the chain is adjusted properly then it would not hit. Yeah right, there was now way in hell the chain wouldn't make noise without a rub block
2)engine plate *if you ride in rocky areas
3)rear tires *stockers are good for oem tires but you can do better for ~$200 plus you'll have a spare set
4)air filter *k&n replacement works fine(no matter what anyone else says) but the clamp on one is better

pipes do give the most power/$ but man do they sound like crap. 2 stroke pipes sound cool but 4 strokes are g*y.
jetting sucks but should be done. if you leave the motor and exhaust stock richen it up alittle with the stock pilots and needle and check your float levels.
bypass the reverse rev. limiter,...makes a big diff when your in the mud.
rip the P-brake off. it won't work after awhile plus its bulky

add-ons really depend on what kind of riding your going to do. The above are nice for trail riding. If you going to race or ride the dunes then I'd get into a pipe and better suspension
