i'm in for New York there is absolutely nowhere to ride. if i just want to go out and have some fun i am automatically doing something illegal. all of those tree huggers make us look like the bad guys. that just ticks me off

i think the best thing you can do is join as many atv clubs or organizations that you can.

Whatever you do after talking to the BRC post it to let us know. If I can help at all let me know. Down here we have a Honda shop, that gets all my bussness now, and a Yamaha shop that used to be the largest seller of Yamahas in the world. I am know the owners of both and beleive that they would be willing to help out, maybe by just telling everyone that comes in about the pettion. PM me if I can help at all!!

I hope to have a plan of action/attack on this matter up tonite. I have a call in to speak to Don Amador from Blue Ribbon.

ANUFSED,

My main concern in this whole deal is just how general the petition could be. As stated above I am trying to contact blue ribbon for some advice.

I plan on getting a domain name and hosting the petition myself. I am a computer programmer and can break down the petition by areas or however need be. I hope some people would get involved and gather local signatures and mail them to me and their congressman/senators. Forums such as this one are a great start on gathering, but local help would be awesome. All one would need to do is drop a petition by their local dealer or take a petition to events. I am confident that a large petition would go recognized in the house and senate. I think the way to hit at this thing is just expressing our concern and discontent about the gov. attitude towards atv's.

Kodiak, Please post the site address on this thread and I will let my local shops know. I have a few friends that work at my local shops and we could be of a big help by posting the address on the bottom of flyers and such asking people for help with the petiton(s).

Where can I go to get a copy of the petition. I know that you had one somewhere but I can't remeber where. It would be easiest for me and others than trying to type one up ourselves. It would also look better if or when it went in front of the Senate if they were all alike.

The one piece of advice I can offer is don't just pick motorcycle/quad selling shops. Any outdoor activity is treatend at some point. Hikers, mountain bikers and horses are also included in some of these REFORMS.

But the flyers everywhere, get on the radio, ask for the Human Interest at the local papers and take them for a ride. If you do this leave all adult beverages at home, but bring all of the saftey gear along.

We are fairly lucky here in maine. They have areas of state land we can ride on but it seems the treehuggers are getting more of it all the time. Count me in.
