I was just playin around with my raptor at night and I noticed that the headpipe was bright red is this normal? I messed around with the choke cause I heard that it does that when it runs lean and it didn't fix it so I don't know.

Thanks,
Darren

I know someone has to know if it's a normal thing or not. By the way it's an FMF Hi-Flo headpipe.

I know the WR250 F head pipe glows bright red at night. My Raptor has too much mud caked on it right now to tell.

you are lean at idle, this is not uncommon if you check the posts you will find many others experience this, back the air/fuel screws out like airraptor suggests

Well I tied to richen it up a little with the choke and it still stayed bright red. Maybe the FMF header it just really thin?

my neighbors Raptor head pipes also glow bright red, he has the DMC Alien complete system. His son just got a CT Racing Complete system, and it said in the instructions if the pipe turns bright red at night that not to worry because it is normal.

The headpipes on my grizz glow red and so do the headpipes on my KTM 620 I think that it is normal for single wall stanless steel to dissipate heat like this.

I have the Bill's Pipe on mine which consist of a ceramic coated head pipe and it if let at idle (at night) will have a low dull glow. I think its perfectly normal and I would'nt worry about it much. Just keep an eye on your spark plug if your worried about it running lean.
