Sprockets on the Warrior
#1
I have an 02 warrior and was wondering about the sprockets. What size are the factory ones? If I go up on the front one, what will happen? Also what about the back? How high can I go on either? What if I change both? By the way, my warrior is almost stock and I do alot of dunes riding and I think its geared to low but dont know if I have the power to go higher or what. Thanx for any help
Also will a banshee front sprocket work on my warrior?

The stock gearing is 13 Front and 40 Rear.
A Warrior does well with a 14 on the front. This will increase your top speed without making a drastic difference on the bottom end.
Go higher than 14 on a stock Warrior, and you will loose power on the bottom and you will notice it.
You can figure different gear ratios by dividing the number of teeth on the rear by the number on the front. [Stock ratio would be a 3.08] The lower the ratio number, the higher top speed, but only as much as your quad will pull it. Go to high and you will hurt top speed performance.
The front sprockets on the Warrior and Banshee are the same and will interchange, but the '87-'88 Warrior came stock with a 14T front. The '89-'02 Warrior has a 13T as do ALL year model Banshees.
The rear sprockets on all Warriors and Banshees will also interchange with the exception of the '87-'88 Warrior. This model had a completly different bolt pattern. The Banshee and Warrior rears, although they interchange, have different number of teeth. '89-'02Warrior is 40T...'87-'88 Banshee is 42T...and the '89-'02 Banshee is 41T
I wouldn't mess around and find used sprockets as they will only cause chain wear. Replace your chain whenever you replace sprockets and vise versa.
