Well I did it. I put 28" 589's on my '02 Grizzly.

It is truely amazing what that machine will do. I suppose my 'greenie' side is coming out (I am a novice rider, only been at this for a couple of years ).

Between the extra ground clearance, the power of the 660, the Dif Lock, and the traction of the 589's, I was pulling other machines out left and right last weekend.

OK so maybe bragging is not becoming, I apologize

sounds nice. for some reason the itp 589's look acceptionaly good on the grizz 660. it was like they were designed for it. i see them on other quads and they don't look nearly as nice. i am going to get a set of dirt devil xt's.

I see you got yourself a 660. I remember you were a long time waiting. When did you get it?

(You probably mentioned it here in the forums, I've been away for some time.)

Any clearance problesm with the 28" rubber yet? I've heard there is a minor problem in the rear when the suspension is fully articulated. I opted for the 27" 589's for running in the snow.

No clearance issues at all so far.

Then again, I have not tried jumping the machine, or done any trail riding at break-neck speeds.

I have exercised it and articulated the suspension quite a bit. I thought I would have some problems with the exhaust can or some of the stearing components. But as of yet, no problems at all.

Just curious, if you like the 589's, why are you opting for the Dirt Devils?

I'm not telling you what to do or anything, just curious.

I finally got my beast 3 weeks ago yesterday. I just took it in for it's first secvice today with 225 miles on it.
I like the 589's but due to the cost of them...I think i might get the dd's. I would spend about $250 for the dd xt's and about $350-$400 for the 589's. I was wondering what the wear is supposed to be like for the 589's. I have to ride about 2 miles on the road in order to get to the place i ride so i don't want something that will wear down quick and also slow me down top end wise. I have pretty much decided on 26" due to height and i don't need to spend the xtra $ for bigger tires.
Don't get me wrong i'm not poor (or else i would nott have this machine) I just figured i might put the $350 towards the payments and pay it off quicker. Becasue i also want to get the "trinity" performance parts.

You will rub them on the black rear fenders if you hit any bumps. Thats unavoidable unless you do some cutting. My 27's rub even after I trimmed down the fender.
