Cheap Quad
#12
Hey ltracerx, I've rinden many time and I LOVE IT ! I currently own a mini offroad Buggy. But I want more power, speed and reliabilty. Cause the buggys reliblity SUCKS. Yeah, I've ridin an ATC before on a farm with my dad and his friends several years ago and we had a couple of NEAR flips even turning on those things it starts to flip if your not careful, lol. But we had a blast. I've talked to my dad about it and he said he doesn't mind quads cause they're pretty safe, but he wouldn't even conside a 3-wheeler, he's heard to many crash storys on them, lol. So a ATC was a good Idea but it won't happen, lol. Thats why i'm looking for a cheap qaud instead of a ATC. Thanx guys.

I would go with a Mojave over the Blaster. They're both about the same power-wise, but I think the Mojave handles a little better. If you're a small guy, the Blaster may be better, but I'm bigger than most guys my age, so the Blaster just couldn't cut it. As for an ATC being tippy... if you know how to leeeeeeeaaaaaannnnn, you'll be OK. I felt the Blaster was just as tippy as my ATC, mainly becuase it's so small and the big baloon tires on it probably contributed to that.

Hey, I went on Cycletrader.com and searched for the Mojave in my price range and all that came up were Mojave 3-wheelers . I think by getting better tires on the Blaster could help on the tipping, I've heard the stock BALLOON tires really Suck. Well thanx guys .

P.S. I'm not to big, I'm around 115-120 and about 5'5". So the Blaster wouldn't be very crampy for me, Oh and do you thing my dad (around 165 and 6') would be crampd on the Blaster?...Thanx again

One thing to consider is maintenance. An older mojave (dual overhead cam) or any 4-stroke is gonna take more cash and be tougher too rebuild. That Blaster will be a piece of cake rebuilding....and probably cost much less overall too rebuild. I say Blaster. If I remember correct, they have around 12-13hp.

Hey garyc660R, Right after I poseted that question I started reading the YAMAHA BLASTER article DIRTWHEELS did and they said "The Blaster Puts Out Around 18HP at 5250RPM at the rear wheel." Thanx for the warning on the 4-stroke Rebuild, I have heard about them being pretty dificult to rebuild and very exspencive, And the 2-stroke being very easy to rebuild. Thanx again.
