Just a quick queston on the Raptor. When I start my Raptor, every time hot or cold it requires me to push the button twice. The first time it doesnt do anything but click, the second it starts right up. Is this a starter problem or do I just need to clean out the switch??? It's just wierd.

i can't say for sure, but i've noticed the electric "things" on this quad aren't very good at sealing out crud. i dismantled my lights the other day because one had gone out and it was full of rust and other things. not really any dirt but plenty of rust. i cleaned out the rust and it all came back on. so it may be that. wd-40 is your friend. so check the handlebar switches and the conection to your starter. good luck.

Same thing happened on my old Honda 300....the groundwire was loose....maybe that's your problem too....i have no idea where it is grounded on your machine though.

another thing to look at is the box with the fuses on it under the seat.
this goes bad often.
about 12.00 to replace.

Mr45auto,

Check under your seat where positive battery lead attaches on the opposite end from the battery. That rubber block that has a fuse also there has a screw where the positive lead is connected. A couple of months ago my raptor was starting intermittently and it took awhile before I found that the screw had come loose and the lead was only making intermittent contact. Good luck, electrical sucks.
