ok, i have heard of those thick, plastic gards that they make. I would like to get one for my raptor. My brand-new acracing gaurd is so bent that now my chain + rotor have cut into it after 4 rides! I think that a plastic one would be a good idea as long as it's thicker than the stock cheap. anyone know a brand/website/price? thanks

Since when is plastic heavy duty? I think your metal ones would last longer.

I wouldnt trust the plastic ones. Heavy duty or not they will still flex enough for you to dent or crush the brake rotor.

Take your old aluminum skid off and beat the dents back out strait with a hammer. If it were a plastic skid even a thicker than stock, it would have been your rotor or chain and sprocket that was damaged. JMO

I had the same problem with an AC skid and the stocker. I finally bought an Armadillo Skid plate from Rocky Mountain for $65. Best investment yet on the banshee. It's .250 thick where most are only .190 thick. I've beat this thing to death and so has my dad on his, and the most that has happened to it is that it has some gashes in the bottom from big ole rocks that i'm always running over. Good Luck!

If you really want a HD plastic try cutting up a 55 gal. drum works best for a frame skid my buudies use them all the time on mx bikes but I think the hammer idea is the best at least it worked for me good luck and better riding
