I'm still going to do the quad, but it has been postponed until I can grab a 250F at a reasonable price. I don't know how it will work out, but am still willing to give it a try. By this Fall, I hope to have some of the 250F's that we sold this year back in as trades. Then it's full steam ahead.
Chassis mods are complete with the exception of engine mounts, plastic, and tires/wheels.
Next up is the all new Maier plastic designed for the Blaster. You guys should see the front piece. The tank cover, hood, and fenders are all one piece. Shiny plastic instead of dull. Looks similar to a 250R front end. Available in all their popular colors. I'm going with the silver. It's only $130.00

I should be able to keep it below $4000.00 after purchasing a bike to nab the engine and wiring harness from. I had someone who built my A-arms and swingarms on the cheap. All thats left is tires/wheels,cosmetics, and minor tidbits.
I'm not going with hydraulic brakes till I know if the thing is going to work well. I have alot of people who suggest that I use a different frame. I would, as i do have some different models lying around, but I wanted to keep it small and light, and most importantly....keep it ALL Yamaha.
A used YZ250F is going to run anywhere from $3000 to $4000 depending on it's condition.
I have debated on waiting for the prices to drop lower. Haven't made a fianl decision yet on anything like I said. Hell..I could end up putting the Blaster engine back in it tomorrow and selling the whole thing.
I plan to keep you guys posted on any developments. I have spent most of time as of late with the hare scramble series.
