question regarding K&N power kit

What I did was cut off the back two thirds of the lid. I still have the front portion to hold the filter in place. Then I carry the back part around with me. In my tool box. If I feel I need it, I can stick it on and I have a full lid again. Also, works for small difference in jetting. I can stick on the lid and it will run a little richer than with it off.
