If I bought a Yamaha in Canada does that mean it was built in Canada?
I am planning on buying in Canada this summer/fall. I talked to Customs and they wanted to know were it was built since that would be the deciding factor as to whether to not I would have to pay a duty on it.
Thanks in advance for your reply's

i think the parts are made in usa or something, then sent to the yamaha store near you, where they then put it together aka build it, but i dont know, cuz a couple times ive gone to a dealer and asked if they had any (quad name here)'s instock, and theyd say yes, but not built yet or in showing condition, aka they havnt put em together yet,

My '01 Kodiak says "Made in Japan" right on the serial number tag. Don't know if any are produced in U.S. or Canada.

atvsaint......The dealers assemble some of the parts because they come shipped in a crate as small as possible. Things like the tires, maybe handle bars, racks etc. They do not order a bunch of parts and build it from scratch.

The YAMAHA plant is on Katella Ave. in ANAHEIM, CA. I live about 2 miles from it. I'm pretty sure they get the componts for Japan and assemble the quads there. Knowing that I bought a Cannondale. LOL

That's not Yamaha's plant in Anaheim!!! That might be one of their distribition warehouses if that! All of their quads & motorcycles are made in Japan. They are built at plants in Shingai, Tenryu, Iwata-shi, & Shizuoka-kem. Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A. is located in Cypress, CA 90630.
