bad660r,

All I do is 300' sand and dirt drags, and I've tried quite a few variations as far as my sprockets are concerned. And the 14/40 combination increased my time the most. It all boils down to what mods you have done to your motor where it makes use of this 14/40 sprocket combination. I would'nt suggest this set up on a stocker!
I've tried both the 13 and 12 tooth set ups and I can't get my machine to hook up in 1st or 2nd gear and the 14 allows me to hook up plus keeps my shift time down to a minimum, which will make or break you in a 300' drag.

Hope This Helps !

bad660r I think you would like Rogersville if you brought your Stang down. Friday nights are pretty interesting for the street crowd. There are usually a bunch of F-body's and Stangs running in a class called SS that's heads-up. It's a top notch track ran by nice people. And their monthly heads-up shoot-outs are great. The track record in the 10.5 Limited class is a 4.9.

How fast is the SS class? My stang should run deep 6s N/A once sorted out. I've only had it to the track once since I got it together and it went 6.50s. I plan on spraying it with a 250 shot also. Check it out!

The SS class is for production cars on the motor with drag radials only. What type of tires are you running? If you have some drag radials you would probably do OK in the drag radial class at one of the shootouts. Their website is www.ozarkdragstrip.com you can check out the results and records on there. I think the record is in the 5.7 range but they have a lot of cars running in the 6 second range. I went through the big D just recently so I'm back to running a basically stock big block that runs 12 flat on the motor and 11.20 on a small plate. I mainly just bracket race but I do have the car licensed and insured. Let me know if your coming down. I live down in the Mark Twain forest about 12 miles from Chadwick but I can hear the track on a Saturday night if I'm outside.
