Hello i just picked up a 01 banshee and have to admit i have been away from the 2 stroke seen latley. From what i can tell it has a k&n, FMF complete exhaust, white bros boost bottle not sure what reeds and i would hope the carbs have been rejetted. The first thing that i need was the person who did the install seemed to have more money than brains and didnt use any brackets up front to help secure the exhaust wich has resulted in a little burnt plastic. How could i obtain these brackets they look easy enough to fabricate but i am not sure exactly because i have nothing to go by (as havent got a chance to see one on another bike)If anyone has any tips pointers or web pages that are a must for banshee owners this would be greatly appreceated. Thanks

You can get them at Yamaha dealer part# 2GU-14771-00-00. I guess you could make them but they don't cost much. Riva Racing lists them for about $13.00 each. So if they try to charge you more they are nuts. www.rivaracing.com

Thanks for the help, i went and looked at that part # you gave and it seems that that bracket would no longer fit with this aftermarket FMF exhaust. as the attachement hole is off set quite a bit anyone with any ideas

Off the wall question, but have you tried talking with FMF about this? I must admit that my Banshee knowledge is limited.

Well you could buy the high dollar alumium ones. I didn't really think there was any difference. We've ran the same clamps on Toomeys, FMF Fattys, FMF SST's, and a couple other brands of pipe. THe bracket has two holes, one in each end. My toomeys set forward from the hole in the frame that they mount to. That's why you just swing the bracket forward to where they will mount up. Maybe this will help maybe not.

A tip on a way to contact FMF would help, and Jennifer that idea you have about the bracket seems to be a good idea but i dont have one handy to see if it would work i also decided to read the pipe and says its the gold series and also says GNARLY on it this is all stamped on it.along with it being loose the other side is fairly tight and dosent have a bracket either but where the header slips into the mid/tailpipe area is trighter then the side that moves is that just a slip fit or is there to be a clamp also after further investigation it seems that this probably happened due to a crash and loosened up the fit.Hey and dont be shy any help on this is better then none.

I run the FMF Fatty's and they use the stock support bracket. The offset is part of the design because they have rubber in the middle to absorb vibration. Agree with the previous post that the bracket just swings up. I thought mine did not fit right at first, but figured it out. Go with the stock Yamaha parts. They are a very common replacement item since the rubber will break loose after a few years. Some people even drill a hole and insert a screw to keep from having a pipe come loose while riding.

Been looking deeper into it and i guess ill try to get a hold of the stock brackets. It also seems that from a few pictures i found on the web that the headers to tailpipe use the stock clamp and rubber wich i have in the box of stock parts that came with it. Sorry for all the fuss but you know how hard it is when you try to be a detective and try to figure out what some else buggered up and why some one would pay a good buck for a machine and then fork out the bucks and bolt on some mods and then do them half ***.
