I read all the past posts on this topic and no one really gives any info.I want to get new tires on my wolverine, the stock ones arent holding up to well. I've got plugs in all of them, its real rocky around here. I've been looking @ Kenda bearclaws but the only one to fit the rims are 25". Everybody says I'll lose my bottem end power. How bad is it really going to effect it. Is it really only going to be in deep mud, theres not much of it around here but when there is it sure sucks being stuck in it. I plan on getting an exhaust and jet kit is that going to make up for the lost power or should I just get a set of Titans 489?????????????

The Titan 489 xt's are 6 ply,so they should hold up real well on rough terrain, and you can stay at 23" to keep your gearing stock. A pipe, filter and jetting would help a lot, as long as you stayed with lighter 25" tires, like Maxxis,it should be enough extra oomph for 25's. To help even more, order a complete set of tires and alumnium rims to shave even more weight off.Since my motor was getting tired, I bumped the bore and compression for even more grunt, and I can spin 25" tires no problem, with no low end problems.

When I bought my Wolverine, it had 26" Sur-Traks on it (actual height 24.5&quot. Low end was crappy, and the bike felt very tippy in hard cornering. I now have 24" 489XT's. They stiffen the ride a bit, but with the 6 ply rating, I am a lot more confident as far as flats go. I feel that the 24 inchers are a good compromise between stock height and the 25 inchers. The bike gained a bit of GC, and is still stable in hard cornering. I was also impressed with the Titans' performance last winter in snow/ice.

That's why I went with the 25 inch Sur Traks, mounted on rims, they are only about 1/2 -3/4 inch taller than the mounted stockers!! the real difference is width. The 8" fronts are almost as big as the 10" back stockers, and the 10" backs look like 12". no tippiness, corners great, just notice the big ruts more, the bigger, more aggressive tires seem to want to grab more, and pull in ruts the stock ones slid on. Just got my Works shocks in,and am waiting on a steering stabilizer, will see how that makes it handle.

I used to have a wolverine and I put 489XT's on it. I liked them but they ride a little harsh but I never got a flat. I would recommend Trail Wolfs. They are 4 ply and ride like the stockers. A word of advice: Keep your stock rims. Most aftermarket rims have more offset which will ruin the excellent handling characteristics of the wolverine. It would also yank the bars out of your hand when you hit something.

Oh, and by the way. 23" Titans are about 1.5 inches shorter in height than the 23" stock Dunflats so you will lose a little ground clearance.

95 Wolv, what's the story on the steering stabilizer? Where did you get it? I have never seen one for a Wolverine.
