Warrior Problems
#1
A friend of mine just bought a 2000 Warrior and is having nothing but problems with it. When he bought it, the mods had already been done (pipe, jet kit, air box mods etc..) When riding rather conservative it seems to run fine, but when you hammer it, the thing pops and backfires and acts like it is ready to die. It does seem to be running lean, and we have changed the jets and made the basic adjustments with no luck. Any tips or suggestions would be very helpful. The pipe is a FMF, which brings me to the next problem. That thing is LOUD and I mean LOUD. I think he is probably going to try and put everything back to stock and see what happens. The only problem is that he did not get the stock pipe with the bike, so he needs to find one that someone is trying to get rid of. Any suggestions? Places to look and try to find one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Try turning your Air/fuel screw all the way in then come back out about 3 turns and see it that helps. Also if you dont have a manual for it YOU WILL NEEEEED ONE!!!!!! If you wanna go back stock though check on ebay, this is just an educated guess but is the pipe a powercore 4?

You say it came with a jet kit already on it, I assume it's the Dynojet kit? If so you should be running the DJ150 main jet with the clip on the needle on groove 3 (from the top). Turn the fuel mixture screw all the way in, then out 1 full turn. This is Dynojet's recommendations for an aftermarket pipe below 5000 feet altitude. Did the quad come with the spare jets and Dynojet instructions? Be careful not to mix Mikuni jets (stock) with the Dynojet needle and DJ jets with the stock needle. I also got a stock pipe in the top of the garage....

Thanks for the replies. They are appreciated. I am not sure exactly what jet kit he has on it now. Tomarrow I plan on tearing into it a little more and will be getting into the specifics. So far all we have been doing with it is just really tinkering around. I will try some of your suggestions and see if we can get it running right. It really seems like its a fuel problem though.
95Warrior - Would you by chance be looking to sell your stock pipe that you have? If so, what would you want for it?
Thanks again for the replies.
